Our Story

One evening during the Centurion trip to Pinetop in 2014, Kevin and Courtney’s mother, Terri, sat on the back deck at the Vorholzer cabin. Terri made the regretful decision of calling Courtney and introducing her to Kevin on the phone. The rest is, as they say, a fairytale love story.

Let’s rewind… Kevin and Courtney actually met during his first year in The Centurions at the annual event. Courtney dressed up as a Neanderthal goddess, Kevin as a water buffalo from the Flintstones. That was the first time they set eyes on each other.

Fast forward… Back to the Vorholzer deck, Courtney received a friend request on Facebook from what she thought was a creepy man, part of her dad’s old man frat club, also known as The Centurions. Although she accepted the request, it was with hesitancy. To this day, Terri takes credit for introducing the two.

One night in December of 2015, Courtney found herself out on 4th avenue at the Shanty playing pool with her friends. Kevin, also out on 4th, popped into the Shanty with his buddies. It was at that moment Kevin realized there was something there between the two of them.

At Country Thunder 2016, #CT2016, Courtney stayed with the Kline Klan while Kevin hosted “Kevin Thunder”. One night following the concerts, Kevin walked Courtney back to her campsite. The next day with an extra VIP pass, he contacted approximately 22 people to get her phone number. Kevin finally got her number and requested her company for the Eric Church concert. The two enjoyed the concert among friends and family and in reality, that is where the friendship started.

Some thousands of text messages later, while setting up for the annual Centurion event, Kevin asked Courtney to be his date to the Friday night steak fry for wives of The Centurions. The evening consisted of food, drinks, and a golf cart ride to give Courtney a tour of the event.

The first real date took place at Trident II where they bumped into friends. Kevin preceded to get poked at for dating his “Centurion Brother’s” daughter. The next time they saw each other was at the Phoenix airport where Kevin picked up his future bride to be. After a quick ride to Tucson, Kevin stayed the evening for dinner with her family.

Following countless dates and inseparability, the two formed their relationship.

After keeping Courtney shielded from the Bedients, Kevin finally took her over for dinner at his parent’s, Ken and Lisa’s, house where the family instantly fell in love with her.

Both being busy bodies, they enjoyed country concerts, good food, beer, and wine, coming up with new cocktails, spending time with family, the company of friends, exploring new places, and creating adventures while maintaining involvement in philanthropic activities and responsibilities.

After many family gatherings and countless adventures, they found themselves at The Centurion event 2017. Little did Courtney know, Kevin sought approval, designed an engagement ring, and planned a heck of a surprise with the help of family and friends. Kevin proposed on stage in front of over 5,000 people and she said yes. Ironically, in the spirit of the Wizard of Oz theme, Courtney’s shirt read, “If I only had a brain”.

We look forward to creating a new adventure on May 19th, 2018 with all of our family and friends for a wedding to remember.

XO, Kevin and Courtney
